Competition Overview

Welcome to the premier speedcubing event of the rainy season! Mumbai Monsoon Mayhem 2026 is an officially sanctioned World Cube Association (WCA) competition taking place on Sunday, July 5th, 2026.

Whether you are a veteran speedcuber targeting a podium, or a newcomer preparing for your first official solve, this competition is built for you. Challenge your times, meet fellow cubers, and experience the incredible synergy of cubing as the rains pour over Mumbai.

Test your speeds in five competitive events. 3x3x3 is the main event.

Main Event

3x3x3 Cube

The classic Rubik's Cube. 2 full rounds. Best of 5 average format.

Time Limit: 2:00.00 Format: Average of 5

2x2x2 Cube

Fast, snappy, and highly competitive. 2 full rounds of speed.

Time Limit: 1:00.00 Format: Average of 5

Pyraminx

The tetrahedral puzzle. A favorite for hyper-speed solves.

Time Limit: 1:00.00 Format: Average of 5

WCA Clock

A double-sided puzzle with 18 clocks. Pin manipulations and gear turns.

Cutoff: 20.00s Time Limit: 1:00.00

Square-1

A shape-shifting puzzle that changes form as it twists. Highly technical.

Cutoff: 35.00s Time Limit: 1:15.00

Note: The schedule is dynamic. Competitors must arrive at the venue at least 60 minutes prior to their scheduled event.

WCA competitions are open to everyone, regardless of age or speed! You will have an amazing time meeting other cubers.

FAQs

Do I use my own cubes?

Yes, you must bring your own puzzles. Make sure they meet WCA requirements (no stickers peeling off, normal logo restrictions).

How are results tracked?

Live results will be posted on WCA Live throughout the day. Official records are uploaded a few days later.

What is the average age?

Typically between 10 and 20 years old, but anyone of any age can (and should) participate!

Podium Finishers

Top 3 positions (1st, 2nd, 3rd) in all 5 events will receive custom trophies and certificates.

Fastest Female Cubers

Special recognition and awards for the fastest female participants in the 3x3x3 and 2x2x2 events.

Participation Certificates

Every registered cuber with at least one successful official solve will receive an official WCA certificate.

Train (Recommended)

The venue is highly accessible from the railway network. The closest stations are:

  • Marine Lines Station (Western Line) - ~10-15 mins walking distance.
  • Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) (Central Line) - ~15 mins taxi ride.
  • Masjid Station (Harbour/Central Line) - ~10 mins walk/taxi.

Parking Alert

The venue is located in a congested old-market district (Kalbadevi/Kalbadevi Market area). There is no dedicated four-wheeler parking at the venue. Public transit or cabs are highly recommended. Two-wheeler parking is very limited on nearby streets.

Ensure your spot in the competition by following these three mandatory steps.

Create a World Cube Association account or sign in if you already have one. If you have competed before, link your WCA ID.

Register on WCA

Submit your event registration on the official WCA competition page. Make sure to select all the events you intend to compete in.

Pay Fee

Pay the flat entry fee of ₹750 INR on the Cubing India shop. Your registration will only be approved after payment.

Critical Registration Rules

  • Flat Fee: The ₹750 fee is flat, whether you choose to participate in one event or all five.
  • Dual Process: Registering on WCA without payment, or paying without registering on WCA will result in an incomplete registration.
  • Processing Time: Please allow up to 48 hours for your registration to show as approved on the WCA site after completing both steps.
  • No Refunds: Registration fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.
